So you need to play a certain genre to be a gamer? What exactly does make you a gamer? Being an entitled spoiled prick? I consider myself a gamer and I play many different games in many different genres. A true gamer has nothing to do with platform, genre, style of playing, or anything else. Being a gamer is a state of mind. Someone who enjoys playing games, to escape the grim graynes of reality. Someone who wants adventures and to experience stories and gameplay. It's the passion and the fire inside our hearts that make us gamers. So no, it's people like you who are not true gamers. You're just spoiled children screaming, yelling and kicking against anything you don't like. But no one, not the gaming companies and not the people around you, owes you anything...

Hey, Fifa is actually good game and very competitive - there are many tournaments! Personally i don't play Fifa (i used to when Fifa 98 came out on PSX) but if someone enjoy playing it i call him gamer :)

I personally don't play sports videogames, not because of any entitlement or considering myself a superior gamer. As I see it, if I would like to play any sort like say, football (t'is no "soccer"), I could just take a ball, go outside and... You know, play. But when was the last time you defeated a real life dragon? Or travelled to discover an ancient lost civilization? Or survived a zombie apocalypse thanks to your amazing military training and survival skills? I'm sure the answers are "never". Because what I most love from games are the option to be someone completely new and different from myself. If I'd like to be just me I'd play "IT dude simulator" or "underachiever: the game". But hey, if you wanna play it, and enjoy it, fucking do it. Is up to the gamer. I find them really boring.

FIFA is a sped up game of chess, nothing more, nothing less. Now, this you'll know for sure, what does it take to be a gamer? That's right, precision, the finest of aim. Only when that's applied, are you playing a real game. Idk why it's a rhyme but I felt like it

Well Robin is right here. A gamer is someone playing a lot of games. If the guy had said "I'm a geek, I play Fifa" (or CoD, or most race game), that would be right, because geek imply some degree of universe and story building. So most sport games or FPS games aren't really geek things, but still gamer things.

I don't mind what you do as long as you do not harm yourself, people and animals around you but how can a game be successful just by releasing the same humans running after the ball. I'm COD, battlefield there are new weapons and shit, new maps and heroes in rts/moba, better cars and new tracks for raising ... I just don't get why people like how 22 millionaires run on the same field after the piece of leather filled with the air.
