The prism arrived with soft cloth pouch and good protective box. It had no chips and did have clear glass without bubbles or distortion. Makes excellent patch of bright colors when held in strong sunlight and rotated to achieve the correct angle.

Finally. A photography tool that doesn't break the bank! I recently came across a blog that alerted me to the technique of "prisming". Of course I had to try it. Firstly, the prism came well presented in a pretty box. I love that it came with a pouch too, because realistically, that box is NOT fitting in my camera bag. I took the prism for a test run at the first opportunity. So here are my thoughts. You could play with this for hours! There are so many different effects you can create, simply by twisting the prism. But there was a bit of a learning curve. For example, I realized I needed to shoot with manual focus because the prism kept interfering with select focus. And although I managed without one, a tripod would have made it easier to shoot. Overall, I like most of the images I shot. I do like the more subtle effects this prism creates, but that's just my personal preference. The double exposure look is pretty different as well. I have a feeling I'll be using this prism a bit. On a different note, my son became obsessed with creating rainbows, ever since I showed him how the prism works. This is one toy I'm going to need to share : ) **I completely overlooked the card placed inside the box. The guide could have been useful to read before I began experimenting. But I'm thrilled with the science aspect of it.

Good quality product, nicely packed. I use it for creative photo effects. Just holding the prism close to the camera lens you can get interesting and artistic looking images with distortion of your surroundings. Not expensive way to create something new in photography, I really enjoy experimenting with the prism.

Nice prism that I used for an unusual application: re-orienting LED indicators on my cable modem. Originally, the LEDs were not visible with the modem placed in my cabinet, so I used the prism to redirect the light out and now I can view the status indicators at a glance. While a few reviewers reported clarity issues, mine was perfect out of the box.

Beautiful piece
We bought this for our 5 year-old grandson. It is a beautiful piece and works well. My only complaint is that it is heavy, and because it is glass, we worry that he will drop it and break it. Probably best for somebody older than 5!
